UK Commission for Employment and Skills announce winning bidders

The commissioning process ran from September to December 2011 to identify preferred providers to deliver National Occupational Standards, Apprenticeships and Modern Apprenticeship frameworks and qualification related products for a three year period starting from 1st April 2012. Sector Skills Councils will share services and resources through a process that was designed to encourage collaborative partnerships to deliver UK wide critical products which underpin game changing skills solutions.

The Commissioning  document expressed;

This is a period of critical change for both the Commission and Sector Skills Councils and the stakes are high.  We need to secure a step-change in employer investment to drive enterprise, productivity and growth. SSCs must be the driving force of real business engagement, as only by business and the network of Sector Skills Councils working in tandem will we deliver skills that unleash the UK’s growth potential.

Michael Davis

Chief Executive of the UK Commission for Employment and Skills, September 2011
