Calls for A4e's contracts to be suspended!

Ministers have been urged by the Chair of the Public Accounts Committee to end/suspend Work Programme contracts with A4e over allegations of fraud.

Apparently Thames Valley police visited A4e’s office in Slough, Berkshire on Friday after the organisation raised concerns over a small number of former employees.
Margaret Hodge MP -chair of the Public Accounts Committee – said that the government should consider suspending the contract with them.
She told the Daily Mail ..

“I think the Government should certainly consider suspending them. It is of great concern that any such investigation is necessary,”

It is unlikely that a suspension will occur as it appears that any irregularity occured under previous welfare to work contracts which sat under the previous administration and also payments are made after six months verifiable job entry..
……………………

Any thoughts welcomed..

  1. This get out clause should not be allowed. It’s government money and it needs to be addresed, A4E HAVE opened up a can of worms, all unemployed initiatives need to be looked at. PAST AND CURRENT
