The Government has written to all households which may be affect by the new caps introduced on benefit payments.
The letter warns how benefits from April will be capped at £350 a week for single people, couples and lone parents will receive a higher payment of £500 a week. The letter also advises claimants of exemptions to the cap and gives advice on how claimants can return to work.
The new cap is estimated to save the £290m in 2013-14 and £330m in 2014-15.
Speaking about the changes Welfare Reform Minister Lord Freud said that the changes would restore “integrity and fairness” into the system.
