4,000 higher apprenticeships confirmed by government

Business Innovation Skills Secretary Vince Cable has announced that 4,230 higher apprenticeships will be created in the next year.  The higher apprenticeships are to be funded by Coalition’s £25 million Higher Apprenticeship Fund.

The new wave of apprenticeships is designed to resolve the skills shortages that are damaging some sectors ability to preform.

Dr Cable announced “Higher apprenitceships are an essential step in re-balancing our economy and building a fairer country where growth is spread evenly and opportunities are not limited to the privileged”.

This is the final group of programmes to be supported by the Higher Apprenticeships fund and builds upon the 21 projects announced last December.
