– Redundancies should not be occuring

Are some providers acting in a less than open way with their staff?

Rt Hon Chris Grayling MP explained that he could see no reason why providers where announcing redundancies and “bringing the shutters down” as they will still be in receipt of funds after the final date of their contracts!!

The Minister does have point!!

Why indeed is this happening or why is the threat looming over so many staff especially when DWP have paid 60% of the contract upfront?

  1. As I work for one of those providers who are “bringing the shutters down” I would like more information about this. After the final date of the ESP contract there will be no more learners in the building so how can teaching staff be retained? Even if some funds are still coming in, unless it’s a fully finded training programme then, of course there will be redundancies. With the work programme not starting until later this year providers cannot live on fresh air until then. If employers are pulling the wool over our eyes, then to what end? Why would they close if they had funding? None of these comments makes any sense. Can anyone enlighten me?
