I was educated in Rhodesia at St, Georges College and brought up in Rhodesia, Zambia and South Africa,I served in the Rhodesian Security Services, attended Newcastle University BA.Comb.Hon Politics & History, MA in Intenational Relations. At university I did a lot of debating national competitions where Charles Kennedy was my greatest rival. Married three children. Have worked in UAE, Egypt and Nigeria and I have been scribbling for years and probably had at least 150 cartoons rejected by Private Eye.
I am a political geek who is interested in; health, equality, and welfare legislation. I have degrees, from Wolverhampton and Warwick Universities, in; Sociology, Women’s studies and Health/social studies. I have researched the needs, motivations and successes of Disabled women who are active in public life. I volunteer for several organizations including; RNIB andEnrych I love to read and am interested in speculative, and literary, fiction.
I currently intern in the constituency office of an MP, and work part-time for a small business, having been a full time carer after withdrawing from university in December 2012. I intend to re-apply for university to attend in September 2014 studying PPE, with the long term aim of a career in politics. My other interests include sport, as a fan of Liverpool in football and Ospreys in rugby, and motorbikes, having ridden since the age of sixteen.
I am a Politics undergraduate studying at the University of Birmingham with an interest in welfare reform and public service reform. Following trips to Moscow and Berlin, I have developed an interest in post-Cold War European politics. Other interests include rowing (poorly!) and non-fiction.
