16-18 apprenticeship funding rate reduction

16-18 apprenticeship funding rate reduction

Responsible department: Department of Education

The Government plan to cut the 16-18 year old apprenticeship funding rate by 2% next year, whilst leaving the adult apprenticeship funding rates unchanged.
At a time of record youth unemployment, £15m under spent last year and calls for greater investment in quality training, the Government need not, nor should not, reduce the funding rate.

If you agree the Government should not reduce the funding rate for 16-18 year old apprentices, then please see the link below to show your support.

  1. I am against the 2% cut for 16-18 year olds, there are enough cuts already. The government will save a fortune in savings when the rule for employers to take over funding 23+ and most level 3 qualifications comes in. Employers paying for staff qualifications is totaly unrealistic for 90% of employers. The likes of Tesco SHOULD pay but when I see national retailers closing by the day it tells us we are not in the right climate yet. It failed 10+ years ago, it will fail again!!Why do they never learn by past history.
