It seems that all this talk of double dip recessions and financial crises in the Euro Zone is affecting employers confidence and limiting the employment opportunities for many UK professionals.
Research conducted by the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCO) has found that the number of vacancies available for professional workers has fallen by 21 per cent since the same time last year.
Even vacancies available for temporary workers which normally have greater resilience during recessions have seen a decrease in demand, APSCO research reveals that the demand for temporary workers was down 10 pre cent on the same period last year.
Ann Swain, Chief Executive of APSCO said
“Once again, negative economic data and uncertainty over the eurozone has pushed employers back into ‘wait and see’ mode.”
