Real apprenticeships – Not a problem in Stoke-On-Trent?

Real apprenticeships – Not a problem in Stoke-On-Trent?

A new company has been formed this week, in association with Stoke-on-Trent College, to help individuals and organisations get people onto apprenticeships.

The company, Real Apprenticeships Limited, has been formed in a response to failures among local providers in helping young individuals onto pre-apprenticeship training. The company, along with Stoke-on-Trent college, has a supply-chain of local organisations who are involved with a consortia who are solution providers for the local Building Schools for the Future works programme (BSF) in the Potteries.

The company’s role, approved under the Apprenticeship Training Agency guidelines, is to

“find the apprentices, match them with employers, and provide pre-apprenticeship training and interviews.”

This company’s innovative approach takes the headache out of recruiting apprentices and it is schemes like this the government hopes will help boost apprenticeships in the coming years.
