The Single Homeless Project (SHP) tells BBC The Report about its decision to leave the Work Programme.
In tonights programme on BBC Radio 4, the organisation says that the upfront fees that it could receive of up to £600 did not cover the initial cost of helping long-term jobseekers. Other organisations took part in the programme but they refused to be identified.
SHP chief executive Liz Rutherford said that the payments the charity receives are “not enough to meet the needs of the clients being referred to them.
